    Musical Jeepers?

I've since added another acoustic and one more electric in the mix. Next comes and acoustic bass, then possibly an electric violin or cello. I picked up the cello a few months ago and I'm seriously in love with it. I've been involved in several bands since somewhere around 1998. If I'm...

Question for Snitty and others w/ SOA

I build all my parts from hardware store odds and ends. My springs are tired. The rears are pretty much flat, and the front have a stock curve to them. I used a ZJ pitman arm (3" drop, 2" lower than stock YJ) and my draglink hits the spring on a full right turn. I agree with the others. I...

    AX15 transmission question

There is no gasket that goes between them. If I had known of the problem before I did my replacement, I would have redrilled the holes. I also would have done it during my SYE but I had already modified the skid plate. Hold a piece of cardboard up to the stock transmission flange.. trace...

    Bye Bye Pluto (Stoopid Sientesseds)

I honestly don't care really. I agree it is interesting as a controversial topic, but I don't see the big deal in spending money to pay for scientists to figure out how to categorize it. We can blow it up and not worry about it... or... just a crazy, far fetched idea... that same money can be...

    YJ U-Joint advice

Actually, I've always found the greasable to be less expensive than the sealed joints

    AX15 transmission question

I put a cherokee AX15 in my YJ. I did have slight issues with the front shaft hitting the skidplate. After my SOA I had worse issues. I got around that by heating and bending (beating with a hammer) my skidplate (while off the vehicle) until it allowed for the shaft to clear

    Before I put it on...

All adjustments are made with the computer. Figure this... If you have a dirty air filter and it is not allowing in much air.. then you replace the filter with a new one, you will be getting in more air. You don't have to make any adjustments in that case. That is one of the beauties of...

It appears that this compressor may even be a Sanden, or of similar design

    YJ Power Fading Away

If you ever get to figure out what it is, let me know. I've been dealing with it intermittently for the past couple years. Today, I went for a ride. It was running very strong, then it just happened to start crapping out on me and I got a few backfires. Then it came back to life.

    YJ Power Fading Away

If you like PB Blaster, you'll fall in love with KROIL It is amazing stuff. I got some from a friend one time, he had it in a gallon jug. I put it in the wrong kind of container to bring some home. A week later it was all gone, it krept out of the container. It is said that it can penetrate...

    Shifter locked up

I'd say it sounds more like its time to look for a replacement. Rebuilding an AX15 is not a walk in the park

    YJ Power Fading Away

just cut the cat out, hollow it, and put it back. My jeep has been intermittently running like crap a lot for the past 3 years. I'll step on the gas one time, it will take off like a madman... 10 minutes later, it gets a flat dead spot from 1500-2100 rpm, then power... next time i hit the gas...

Are you looking at both front wheels? If you are only looking from the driver side, the passenger side might still be spinning

Body lift when mounting tub to frame

I would ditch the stock bushings and use 2 hockey pucks for each mount. that would give you about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inch over stock

    Goofy CJ stance

I am definitely going with the weight issue in the front. Take a look at the angles of the spring ends. The front spring ends point almost right toward each other, signifying a flat spring. The rear has a nicely desired curve. I have no doubt that the front springs are either overloaded or...
