    Happy Martin Luther King Day!!

Well, since the day is over with, I'll say this. MLK WAS a GREAT man. I don't think anyone here will argue anything different, however, how many OTHER great men has this country had and why don't they all have holidays named after them? MLK is the ONLY holiday we have that honors ONE man. I...

    Jeep and Speed ???

    I've hit 90 in a 77 CJ7 with a 304/T150 while pulling a 19 ft Bayliner. Not something I want to do again (I wasn't driving).

Do you really have to ask that? If girls don't want you to look they wouldn't dress that way. Before anyone gets their panties in a wad, I'm not saying it's an invitation to do ANYTHING other than LOOK, but if they don't want people to look at them they need to wear more clothes. My daughters...

    82 CJ7 Value?

Don't know what it's worth, but my advice would be to keep it (I'm assuming it's paid for) and buy a used Honda or Toyota to get you from point A to point B. I rolled over 300K on my 93 Accord on the way home from work today. I've replaced the rad, 2 timing belts, 2 sets of brake pads, a fuel...

    Vacuum gauge for carb tuning

Well, I spent the better part of the day covered in grease and gasoline. I hooked up the vacuum gauge and got about 21 at idle, so according to the Erman guy 21/2 ='s 11.5 11.5-2='s 8.5 so I need an 8.5 power valve. I discovered that my carb had a 2 stage power valve and of course no one in...

    Vacuum gauge for carb tuning

I got me a vacuum gauge today. Where do I hook this thing up to tune my carb. Main thing I'm interested in for now is figuring out what power valve I'm supposed to be running. MC2100 with TFI on an 85 I6 FWIW.

    MC2100 jet question

not yet. I went ahead and ordered some 48's from erman and I have 47's in the Jeep now. I've got to get a vacuum gauge and check to see what power valve I need, and then try putting the right power valve in to see if it works. I might try it saturday while the kids are napping.

    MC2100 jet question

how are those 46's working for you? Just wondering if you ever got that PV put in. Ehrman told me I needed 48's if I have the right power valve, but I'm running rich at idle right now with 47's so I'm not sure what I want to do.

    MC2100 jet question

Drove mine to Siloam Springs today and the whole family smelled like exhaust when we got back... I'll pick up a vacuum gauge in the next day or so and see what I get. Thanks for keeping me updated. This is something I've been needing to do for awhile and I need to get it done and quite putting...

Thanks for the update. Where did you hook the vacuum gauge up on the carb?

    MC2100 jet question

ebay guy said to have it at idle (mine's at about 800 rpm, which he said was fine) take the vacuum reading, divide that number by 2, then subtract 2 from that. Vacuum reading 14 divide by 2='s 7 7-2=5 So you need a 5 power valve. Holley power valves will work (from what I've been told) and are...

    MC2100 jet question

Hey lah, how are those 46's working for you? The ebay guy recommended 48's at my altitude, and said I probably have the wrong power valve in there. Instructions were to hook up a vacuum gauge and divide the reading (at idle) by 2, then subtract 2 from that number, and that's the proper power...

    MC2100 jet question

Keep me updated. I asked Ehrmann what he would suggest as far as jet size/ power valve size and am waiting for a response from him. I drove my Jeep today and i smell like exhaust BAD.
