where are you located??? I know a guy that has one but DK if he wants to part with it, I bought thinking a 96 would be "close enough" for a 97 but it wasnt to be; the guy that has it now has a 96; I could not return it so I gave it to him; being it will work on his 96, IDK if he would want to...

    steering wheel stereo controls.

old thread I know; I just bought a Pioneer Deh 66 that fits the 1.5 DIN hole in my XJ and came with a module that screws to the rim of the steering wheel..... I figure I'll probably mount at 6:00 on the 'wheel.

    97 XJ TPS circuit; HELPPP!

yup thats exactly what I wound up doing; after masking the snot out of the w/s and the body around the track, sandblasting the gap between the glass' edge and the rest of the channel, I found 2 areas of pinholes along the w/s channel both about 1-1/2" long both in the "vertical" leg of the...

Losing oil fast in Cherokee Country

oil sending unit=common issue; having an 18 yo son change my oil dont help either. to add to the common-ality of oil sending units failing on their own, the close proxinity of the sending unit to the filter, my kid busted my sending unit a few oil changes ago while changing the filter....

    Clean engine?

after the issue I just had going in circles chasing an issue that wound up being the TPS, issues that started ~40 hours after a power wash with a steam cleaner, all I can say is be careful; and that my tolerance for a dirty engine compartment just went upwards a notch or 2

    97 XJ TPS circuit; HELPPP!

I taped off the glass with cardboard and the roofline, front clip, and front doors with old bedsheets and sandblasted the channel around the window the pinchweld the window sets in looks good but there are pinholes in the "vertical" leg of the channel in 2 spots, driver side bottom along the A...

    no top end power

the "drawing dirt and crap when run low on gas" is somewhat an old wives tale; I mean you are always drawing from the bottom of the tank right?

    97 XJ TPS circuit; HELPPP!

REALLY? When I look up Computer ID with my scanner it says its a "49 state" computer; with Chrysler that suffix was usually a "revision status"; the part NUMBER is the same, but "AA" is 1st edition; "AB" is 2nd edition; "AC" is 3rd edition "AD" is 4th etc I wonder what they changed between...

    no top end power

it cant hurt to change the O2; another thought; My 97 XJ has always been "alright" on power, but it never was as good as my 01 was. It's better now than that 01 ever was. (and yes I'd had this done at one time on the 01, too) Consider this; I have recently taken the injectors off of my 97 XJ...

    97 XJ TPS circuit; HELPPP!

ran it over 100 miles yesterday and though it has been sitting 6 months I dont ever remember that particular Jeep having that much power and zip; it had always seemed a little "down" as compared to the 01 I had prior to it; but still better than the 4.0 in my same-year TJ; (that one needs better...

    Water leaking in

I have another problem with my 97 XJ that ain't leaking yet but will become one if I cant get it fized; the windshield channel is all bubbled up and surface rusted; one bodyshop referred me to his "glass guy" and the 2nd body shop said he would not touch it; to run it til it leaks, then scrap...

    power window to crank window

how bout junkyard motors for the 2 dead ones???? Kinda "split the difference" and no modifications needed from manual regulators; I see tons of these jeeps parted out on CL; the "hassle factor" would be less, fixing what you have.

    power window to crank window

I HAVE TO ask; WHY???? usually people want to convert the "other" direction..... then again my 94 Dakota has factory power windows; and I hate the switch location.

    97 XJ TPS circuit; HELPPP!

Apparently fairly well; I DO NOT believe this but I think it may be fixed; Everyone between here and 3-4 other Jeep based forums said to either replace the clockspring the TPS itself or both; way early on I swapped on a "known good" TPS from a 98 Durango; PN was 1 numbre off and it was a bit...
