I have an 89 YJ 3.5" lift 31" tires with D30/35 with 3.07 gears. Bought D30/35 from 93 4cly, 4.10s. The problem I have just noticed is that the 89 axles used 3 vacuum lines to work the shift acuator for front axle. Two yellow hoses, one green. 93 has only 2 lines and a wire running to the motor...

I do not know for sure but I have heard that the bellhousing on the 258 (4.2)and 242 (4.0) are the same so If you had a manual transmission Ax15 they would interchange. Not sure with the transmission you have.

Bought my YJ with a broken turn signal lever and switch. cost $125 for the switch from the dealer gave me 20% off and $200 to have it installed by my machanic, when I tried the steering wheel bolt thread stripped! ahhh

Just put a Borla cat back system I got used off ebay on my 89 yj and it sounds great! Has a little rumble and tucks real nice out of the way. Didn't match up well with the factory header tubes so I had to get a reducer to get it in place with the factory pipe from the cat. It is not super loud...

Bad ass do a search in the cj,yj,tj forum for nutter bypass. You will find all you could ever want to know about the nutter bypass and how it can help out your carbd 4.2L

Did the Nutter bypass this today, what a big improvement in the way the engine runs and idles. This should help the milage a bit. Still waiting to do the ignition upgrade.

So what rpm are you running at 60, or 65mph? I run about 1,500rpm is that low?

What kind of milage should an 89 Wrangler 6cyl, weber carb, 5spd, 3.07 gears, and 31" a/t tires get? I am getting about 14mpg on highway and around town, when I baby it. The Jeep only has 76,000 miles. Seems like it should get better milage. It's only pushing 1,600rpm at 65mph. Is there...

Southbay can you take a picture of your vacuum lines. I have a weber on my 89 and wan't to make sure the previous owner did it right. I get terrible gas milage, also where did you get an adapter to use the stock breather?

I have seen tons of YJ's with plow over the years. I even drove one with a plow on it, when looking to buy a Jeep. I hear they do a great job as long as the snow is under a foot. As far a handling a plow, better get some helper spring or add a leafs. The front ends sag real bad.
