    Aftermarket shifter for 2005 TJ

To answer your question, all of the aftermarket shifters I have seen for TJ's are for the '97-04 (i.e. 5 speed) gearboxes. I have yet to see any offered for '05-06 (i.e. 6 speed) boxes. I honestly don't know how much difference there is between the 5 speed and 6 speed shifters, so I don't know...

    Hurricane!!

Lots of wind/rain here in Baltimore. Power went out around 11:30pm. Lots of branches down and a few trees, but no buildings damaged that I can tell.

    Gone Racin

I have a shelf of drag racing trophies myself. I used to run an '88 Mazda 323 (not nearly as impressive as your rides, I know, but it *is* unique. I guarantee you'll never see a non-turbo 323 that is as heavily modified as mine). I still have the car and have actually been working on getting her...

    Snake

I came across a 3-4' snake slithering through the cafeteria of a public elementary school in downtown Baltimore, MD a few years ago. A door was left open by the loading dock in the kitchen and it found it's way inside. Don't know what kind it was, didn't care to stick around long enough to find out!

    This girl needs help.

I'm not positive when it comes to TJ's, but I just helped a friend install a 4.5" budget type Zone lift on an XJ and it had instructions to simply relocate the stock track bar on the front. I will fully agree that an adjustable track bar or a drop bracket would be ideal (and of course some...

    This girl needs help.

Actually, after doing a little bit of research JC Whitney's site lists the manufacturer's part # as K294. A google image search shows several pictures of the lift kit which shows that it comes with extended sway bar links front and rear, a t-case drop, and YES it does come with extended lower...

    This girl needs help.

I think there's a typo in that description. I think it does come with lower control arms. Adjustable track bars, extended brake lines, an SYE, adjustable suspension links and all that - they're nice, and they do improve ride quality and off-road performance. HOWEVER they are not needed to get...

Just in case anybody hasn't heard, Green Ridge is now permanently closed after an environmental impact assessment earlier this year.

    lift help

Yes it will work and yess it will fit the 33" tires, but you may have a bit of rubbing on the swaybar with the steering wheel cut all the way in either direction. It's not a big deal though. You definitely don't want to add any more body lift (and in fact I would think about lowering the body...

    Key turns for engine codes?

On my '06 you just put the key in the ignition and go on-off-on-off-on-off in less than 5 seconds and it pops up, you don't have to press anything.

    rear sway bar links

Wait a minute - REAR sway bar links? The fronts I would suggest a JKS Quicker disconnect or if you have the money a Currie Anti-Rock (Or JKS Switchblade) as mentioned above. However for the rear, I've always heard that there isn't enough to be gained from disconnecting the rear to make it...

    Hummer Hunting

So you have Bad Boys II on your iPod? The best part of that scene is watching how many times the mirrors on the side of the H2 get ripped off, then magically reappear and get ripped off, magically reappear, etc.

Installing 4.5" Zone lift on '98 XJ - Anything I should know beforehand?

Finally got the XJ finished last night. Once we had the right bolts for the rear shackles the rest of it went together in short order.

    interier plastic trim

I believe you may also have to remove the "oh shit" handles. They have tabs on the side that pop off to reveal the screws.

Installing 4.5" Zone lift on '98 XJ - Anything I should know beforehand?

Tim, I hate your XJ. Get that shackle bolt and we'll be (almost) done!. In case anyone was wondering, it turns out the weld nut did NOT break off, but the bolt was hosed. So we ended up cutting the bolt off and got the old shackle off, problem was that we couldn't find any place open on a...

Installing 4.5" Zone lift on '98 XJ - Anything I should know beforehand?

Thanks for the advice. So as I said, we had problems with the shock bolts in the rear. Sheared off the bolts in the bottom, couldn't get the upper bolts to turn. So we ended up cutting the shocks off with a combination of Dremel tool and angle grinder last Sunday. We ordered shock relocation...

Installing 4.5" Zone lift on '98 XJ - Anything I should know beforehand?

Well, we got the front end done in about 4 1/2 hours (including the steering stabilizer). No real problems other than it took some ingenuity with a ratchet strap to get the axle to move forward so the lower control arm bolts would line up. Front end looks great. Rear end...first step was to...

Installing 4.5" Zone lift on '98 XJ - Anything I should know beforehand?

So as I've posted on the site many, many times I own an '06 TJ that is currently running a 4" suspension/1.25" body lift and too many odds and ends and different components for me to bother going into here. Suffice it to say, it's kind of a piecemeal suspension but it turned out great and works...

    Whats the best lift kit?

A lot of people will drag you over the coals for saying that (i.e., "More like MALLjacker! LOL"). However I have to admit that the Skyjacker springs and shocks on my TJ perform quite well, but I do plan on upgrading the shocks as time and money permit. I've heard people say that Skyjacker...
