how much do ya wanta spend ??????? to upgrade joints, i'd pull a set of shafts off a new jeep xj, or tj the joint will be bigger. you will be going from a 260 size to a bigger 297 size. or you could just jump into some new chromo axles $$$$$. as for the winch buy what you can aford. brand names...

on a scale of 1 to 10 it's an 8, not super easy, but if done wrong, can be quite costly. if you haven't done it, it would be best to watch some one do it, or have them help you. shops get big bucks to do it, cause it can be a pain...

being in pottsville, bmja is closest to you. bmja has dues, yearly and no other requirements. it's a volenter group, give as much or as little as ya can. they have monthy meetings in hamburg at otten jeep on rt 61, and monthy trail rides. it's a good group.. and you will find you click.. lol p/m...

air compresss..... oil and water do not... i'd go with the above method..

i'd invest in a harbor freight side hammer, a wire wheel and some anti seeze.. that will help you a lot, and be less of pain the next time ya need to change either a joint or hub...

you can still buy 297's they have a grease fitting vs the 760 that does not.. if it's the xj in his stats then i'd bet on a 260 size joint..

you could clean your idle air control on the throttle body it take torq head sockets, and the throttle body could need cleaned as well, carb and choke cleaner will do wanders on both.

spin it and check for noise, or play with the trans in netural. or at low speeds on jack stands..

are you losing any coolant? is the level on the over flow bottle going down at all? your heater core could be bad? and leaking see if you pass side foot well is wet, or has a oily feel to it.. that's were my wife's leaked only a few years old too...

what brand/ make, and model tran & case do you have ? looks like you have a standerd, and gear driven case? you could go with royal purple, or amzoil. if that is so..

wtb tj rubi rear/ front locker my rear locker is broken were the bearings press on. i have had no luck getting parts. or finding some one wh has parts.. forget the dealer been there.. i hope to make one out 2 thanks. i'd like so to see some pics, and a price. thanks tow
