Blue 1991 YJ Wrangler 4.0 5-spd (Orlando, Florida)

And recent new clutch and slave cylinder. As of today: new distributer cap, rotor, and plugs! Runs like a champ.

Blue 1991 YJ Wrangler 4.0 5-spd (Orlando, Florida)

Orlando, FL Great, rust-free '91 Wrangler 4.0 5-speed. Gray interior and top. Dual exhaust sounds like a ford 5.0! 4wd works great. Interior in really good conditon- only wear is on drivers seat - 2in tear in vinyl on corner near door. Other seets look almost unused with "jeep" still well...

    Stick or Auto??

I was just wondering if there are any benefits to auto? I do notice when I'm truckin' aound in mud sometimes I feel like I loose a little bit of control and forward motion during my shifting (5spd). How is the automatic when paired up with the 4.0? Might help me battle the occasional stall...

    New Leak!!!!

Good Call wm69! When have you ever seen a jeep commercial portraying on-road manners, soundproof doors, or a sophisticated 28-speaker sound system? The last time I checked "go anywhere" was jeep's theme of the century... jered

    New Leak!!!!

I got a pretty bad drip starting under my 4.0 today. It looks as if it's between the engine and trans... it IS oil though. It appears to be coming from between a metal plate-looking thing and the begining of the transmission housing. Anyone have any guesses (main seal)??? If so how expensive...

    Aussie Locker Run-around

:? So I finally ordered my Aussie locker for my Dana 35 in mid September. After a week I called to find out what the shipping date would be and they told me that "production" was the problem and it should be here by the first week of Oct. Then I e-mailed them again two days ago and was told that...

    YJ?...TJ

Short Throw Shifter Biggest restriction I see is in the budget. Take $10k and buy/build-up a YJ, then take $10k and buy/build-up a TJ ... You will find that you have a monster YJ and a basically stock TJ... maybe some 30" tires on it. I agree that there are more creature-comforts in the TJ...

    Air conditioning for my YJ

I've got a YJ with under-dash AC. Very cold, but the only benefits are cool legs and cool "boys" (which is better than hot all over!) You'll still get the sweaty back even on a 5 min. drive if it's over 90 degrees (AND with 90 percent humidity like here in FL) jered

    clutch troubles

Yeah, are you sure he didn't say that you need to do both your clutch & slave cyl. at the same time? That was the advice I got when mine went out. jered

    clutch troubles

When that happened to me it ended up being the slave cylinder in the trans. leaking... sucks if you take it to a mechanic :?

    Low RPMs

A different question about the Speedometer Thanks Snitty, I didn't know that - always thought it wanted me to shift when I reached like 2000 rpm! I just got back fm driving aound and found that I could really ring out a lot more power taking off from a light if I let it hit that 3500-4000 mark...

Isnt jeep concern but i want to get my opinion out!

Only 21 and have owned a bit of everything: "classic" '71 VW bug, "ricer" '91 Eagle Talon, "muscle" '94 Stang GT, and now my '91 YJ beast. Which car I prefer all depends on the time of day, ammount of traffic, and availability of dirt roads and wilderness. ... wait - I take that back.. the bug...

    Low RPMs

Yeah... I had a similar concern. Why does the shift light pop up so early... makes me feel like I'm killing the engine at 3800 rpm!!!???

What's the Best Off Road Lighting for the buck?

Yeah, a friend of mine has four KC's that are pumping like a million candlepower each -he even upgraded his alternator to accomodate... yet I have NEVER seen them used. I suggest going with the cheapies and spending money on stuff to keep from gettin' stuck.

    Clearance Question

Thanks, I didn't think about it that way. A half-inch of clearance isn't much so I'll stick with the 32's. I found a good deal at SAMS Club for those tires. I got quoted around 465 installed and out the door. I might even be able to do a little better than that because I know one of the guys who...

Clearance Question Yeah, if that's $12k worth of "trail ready" he must have really gotten ripped off!

    Clearance Question

Quick tire size question: I am about to install (within the next month) my 3.5" lift and need to purchase some good tires for mudding and off-roading. I am going with the Dunlop mud terrains (strictly because they're the least expensive mud tire I could find). My original plans included 32x11.5...
