When I changed the cam, timing set and distributor in my 258, I was very careful to line the gear marks and distributor set to #1, etc. To make a long story short, when I started it , I had to re-set the distributor 180 degrees. My question is, there must be a difference in the locating...

Thank you very much, because I have an 84 and 87 and they both have 7/16" bolts but some suppliers list different gasket numbers for them . I have been told it was because of a change in water ports, I always thought it was due to bolt size.

Please, I have heard many things about 1/2" and7/16" head bolts, can anyone explain what years had what? Thanks for any info at all.
