I also have a JK manual. I have the same issue...but it only happens when I am performing a lazy gear change...if I double check that it's in 1st, I have no problem. What did they do finally to fix it?

I did torque the rockers to spec but I haven't checked them since. The oil pressure looks pretty normal. Could it be piston slap? Although I have no idea what that sounds like.

Thanks for that. I will def try adding some ATF, but I am sure I will end up replacing the camshaft etc so I know my engine is in good shape. So how do you go about replacing the camshaft? It sits in the long block right?
