a/c and heater fan only blows from defroster and at feet no matter what position fan is on, I have the dashboard off right now installing a cd player, any ideas what the problem is

What would batman use at the rubicon I am trying to install a radio/CD player in my jeep cherokee, 1996 and a new radio antena wire, I don't know how to get the dashboard off, also the fan on the a/c only blows from above dashboard and at the feet. Any ideas and/or suggestions. Any help is...
