What did you do to your Jeep today?

No, I put some Moog rubber bushing in that I had bought some time ago. I didn't know that Metalcloak make upgraded bushings, they look good, But I'm not sure I'd trust my welding skills just yet. I saw some Iron Rock bushings that are press in, but didn't want my Jeep down while I waited on...

What did you do to your Jeep today?

It took quite a bit of work but I was finally able to press out the bushing with a ball joint press. Definitely not a job I want to do again. Sent from my Pixel 6a using Tapatalk

What did you do to your Jeep today?

Well I had intended to change the upper Axle bushings, but all I ended up doing was mangling them. I'll hit up the parts store tomorrow for a press. Wish me luck Sent from my Pixel 6a using Tapatalk

    Checking in

I'm sorry to hear things have been rough - maybe you're right that a change of scenery is what you need. Just take it one day at a time man.

Best way to start on rusted exhaust nuts (wrench vs impact) without destroying it?

About this - I've got cans of both PB Blaster and Seafoam Deep Creep, and both of them have "warning flammable" on the back. I sprayed the nuts / stud several times, but never when it's hot. Are people getting these bolts red hot, then spraying Blaster on them, or waiting for everything to...

Welcome Giovanni. I had to run your comment through Google translate, but your right the shock absorbers have been replaced previously (actually a couple of times).

Best way to start on rusted exhaust nuts (wrench vs impact) without destroying it?

The stud began to glow a little bit, but not very much. The exhaust flange didn't glow at all. The youtube videos I've watched have the whole exhaust flange glowing bright red. My plumbers torch from Home Depot couldn't do that.

Best way to start on rusted exhaust nuts (wrench vs impact) without destroying it?

I'm going to say that I had partial success getting these nuts off. Right off the bat. Things were weird because one nut appeared to be a different size than the other. It turns out they were just so rusted that they had disintegrated. When I put my six-point socket on the nut rounded off with...

Best way to start on rusted exhaust nuts (wrench vs impact) without destroying it?

This is what I'm thinking, but I read on another form that you should start with an impact because the vibration can help loosen things. I'm tempted to use your method though.

Best way to start on rusted exhaust nuts (wrench vs impact) without destroying it?

No, these are on a Y pipe. Only thing that connects into it is an O2 sensor. I need to remove this portion of the pipe in order to drop the oil pan. Car is a 2009 Ford Escape.

Hoonigan's Bankruptcy taking down some big name offroad companies.

I don't normally follow corporations, let alone wheel corporations, but I have heard of Hoonigan in passing. It turns out that Hoonigan is 1.2 Billion dollars in debt, and has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy. Normally I'd shrug my shoulders and move on, but the list of companies that Hoonigan...

Best way to start on rusted exhaust nuts (wrench vs impact) without destroying it?

I need to take apart a section of exhaust on my mom's Ford Escape - it's only four nuts, and they don't look too bad. I've been hitting them with PB Blaster for a day or two, and I'm about to the point where I want to take them apart. I've got a hefty 1/2 inch Dewalt impact that would likely...

Finally changed out my bump stops

Yeah, you just pop them out and pop in the new ones. I used a big screwdriver to pull the old ones out. I didn't have to remove the springs.

I changed out the bump stops on my 2005 Wrangler. I think it was about time. These old ones are pretty crusty Sent from my Pixel 6a using Tapatalk

Is this too much (or not enough) caster?

I can't quite tell if my pinion angle looks good or not. I bought a digital angle finder that should be here soon. Sent from my Pixel 6a using Tapatalk

Is this too much (or not enough) caster?

I went from 2.5 in Rough Country springs to some 4-in Rubicon Express springs, and lengthened both my front and rear upper control arms quite a bit during the install. I found that my Jeep handles much better now. Steering is much more responsive. Previously. I could move the wheel left and...
