    1996 Jeep Cherokee Alternator Problems

    I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee. Drove through some water and the Generator light came on. Has happened before but always went off. Alternator will not charge. Took it to mechanic and he put on new alternator but still will not charge.Seems to be stumped. Any suggestions
