I plan on replacing the gasket. The sound bothers the my better half more than me. Any tricks to the removal or is it straight forward? Should I get new header bolts also? Will any type of gasket work? Thanks again!
:( My exhaust manifold gasket has sprung a leak. When it is cold it is very noticable until the engine gets to temperature. (I have isolated to the gasket) Does anyone have any pointers or gotchas to look out for. Anything would be helpful! :?
I had that same problem with a "new" reman master cylinder. After multiple bleedings and reconnecting the lines with still no fix. I purchased another "new" reman, but instead of swapping out the whole MC I just swapped the newer lid onto the older installed MC and the leak stopped. It may...
:o I'm here north of Sacto and watching this thread closely! I'm also looking for some wheeling spots. I know that there are a bunch of areas around but I don't want to wheel alone! :P
:D Well Tug, Thanks for asking! I am a Coast Guard Herc pilot stationed at the old McClellan AFB (currently McClellan Air Park after the base closure - Thanks Bill C). My first time here (92 - 96) I made many a deployment up to AK doing fisheries patrol - protecting our fish stocks from foreign...

About two years ago I was driving a minivan and I was probably going a bit slow because due to the fact I dropped my cheeseburger on the floor. I was startled back to driving when by a gal passing me in a Jeep. Anyway, I got the burger handled, resumed normal...
My name is Geoff, often confused with Jeff. In college my roommate's name was Jeff therefore I became Geo. I owned a 74 Plymouth Scamp with a personalized plate of Scampn. Since I now have a Jeep, I creatively used jeepn and geo to make jeepngeo. Ain't that grand!
Maybe not related but, I replaced both front rotors, calipers, pads and was wondering how hot rotors get after "normal" on-road driving. It's been over a year and after a drive home from work (mostly back roads) you can smell the heat and they are very hot to the touch.
Is there a adjustment...
:( So no one is really big on this mod I guess. Sounds like I'll save a C-note with a stock replacement then. In this case no responses save me some $$. :D
:? 89 4.2, definately sounds like the infamous carter carb problem. I recommend a search of this site for any and all carb issues. The knowledge you will gain will enlighten you towards your Jeep yet frustrate you towards your carb. I know from experience with my 89. Good luck!
My 14 year old jeep has some significant play in the steering wheel. Does anyone have any good experience with this swap? Is a replacement stock shaft sufficient or should I go with the Flaming River or Borgeson high dollar jobbers? Thanks for your help!
