Picking up a dial indicator and compression gage on the way home. Giong to check valve lift while i got the valve cover off as well...will post the results tonight

did the WOT step and nothing. took coil pack loose and put spark plug wires from the packs to the plugs and all spark....however near as I can tell ....the sparks seem to be inconsistent. 2 and 3 seem to get extra sparks and some seem to loose spark from time to time. no compression check...

I will try that step now since I totally missed it...im sorry. did not mean to annoy you. then the compression check if I can find the tool for it.

The coil pack is new as of 2 months ago. Thoe im not sure what else could have gone wrong when the old motor gave up....we didnt swap the harness but thats something to check ....do that while doing compression check and timing light today....just confuses me that only 1 or 2 cylinders seem to...

Changed iac for known good one and swaped all injectors for good measure. Still a no go....same thing. Do a compression tomorrow. Witch sensor would cause an early spark....crank or cam?

I was also worried about exhaust not opening so i pulled valve cover and cranked over by hand. All valves seem to open and close however 3 and 4 exhaust valves seem to move less than the rest. Will check the vacume leak option next just to be sure

well that's not whats under there. has 1 o2 sensor just before the flange and that's it.... just pulled motor back out and the part numbers are the same on the flexplates so that's not it....didn't think it was but now I know... killed a starter from it trying to kick backwards while turning...

I have re-indexed the sensor several times with the same result....I still cant help but wonder about the wiring harness missing plugs to plug in the 2 o2 sensors in the exhaust manifolds. the tj has 2 upstream and one downstream....however there is no catalectic converter between them....so...

The 2000 tj has coil packs so crossed plug wires can't happen. I however suspect things were swapped be for he got the jeep because it has 3 o2 senses and only 1 plug to plug them in. All plugs are new and gaped corectlly ... I have seen a few people claim the tj OPDA won't work in the wj...

only place I can find near me that has a flywheel for a 92 is the dealer and they want 480 plus tax for one....thinking the relocation kit is the way to go at this point...just wondering about mud getting in the way and causing problems...or if it would matter. know nothing about them...so let...

just seen it as another option on the table is all. it was an auto at first and I would not have changed it at all if it was not for having to take it apart in the first place. cold weather cracked the block so it had to come out....then the trans swap followed

Having a bit if trouble verifying that. Guess I can find a used one to check before I make a decision. Custom drive shafts are way more that I thought so not going that route....

So next step is flywheel swap or go back to an auto. If I go to an auto then I need custom drive shafts. If I stick with the 5 speed it's out of a 90 Xj so I need to know if clutch parts from 90 will fit 92 flywheel ....or do a cks relocation kit. Which is a better option
