If you get something that is able to be disengaged, your tires will last longer on the street. On the trail, Utah is right. This is my first locked Jeep, and it's pretty unstoppable.

We run a 4in Pro Comp with 33" Pro Comp Mudders on the 93 YJ. Slight rubbing at full articulation. The stock 4 banger and gears (including transmission) do just fine for daily driving. Granted, the ride isn't nearly as smooth as my SOA on the CJ, but thats another story altogether.

I have the Weber upgrade. I don't know about the ease of installation, it was on there when I bought the Jeep. It does run good even at high altitudes. (above 10000 ft) I even got it to pass emissions here in Colorado.
