95 Grand Cherokee - Oil Pan

I definitely know it's not the rear main seal. I had that replaced in '08 with some other engine work. Also, recently had the transmission rebuilt and they visually inspected the seal when the transmission was removed. I'm pretty sure it's the pan gasket. Or where the oil filter is. :)

95 Grand Cherokee - Oil Pan

Hey all, I was wondering if there was an easier way to change the oil pan on the 4.0 I-6 engines that doesn't involve jacking the engine up and removing a mounting bolt or two? I can jack the Jeep up enough to get under to the oil pan, but I don't have the facilities to do all the engine...

95 Grand Cherokee - Electrical Issue

Ahhhh.....gotcha. I can go forward in alpha sequence, but not backwards. Makes sense now. I'd probably be pulling from either an 1994/1995/1996 model as those are the ones on the salvage yard lot. With luck I'll find one that matches or is higher sequence. I don't think I could pull one...

95 Grand Cherokee - Electrical Issue

So.....I need to make sure the last 2 digits match? Or are you saying that I can use an AB PCM in place of my AA PCM? I always thought that so long as it was a 4x2 I-6 automatic (same as mine) then the PCM /should/ work.

95 Grand Cherokee - Electrical Issue

Ok....so that didn't fix the issue. I think I'm going to go to Pull-A-Part tomorrow and yank an alternator and PCM from a Jeep there.

95 Grand Cherokee - Electrical Issue

Ok, so maybe my Grand Cherokee Laredo doesn't have a battery temp sensor. I removed the battery and there's nothing under it at all. Just the plastic tray. I wonder if it was an optional addon for my model and year. I checked the cables for corrosion, and used a steel brush on all the ones I...

95 Grand Cherokee - Electrical Issue

Hey all, Just looking for a little insight here on an issue I'm having. First off, the vehicle specs: 1995 Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 I-6 engine 2WD Automatic 226,491 miles Back in August the Check Engine light came on and I noticed the volt gauge was reading in a discharge state (about 1/4...

    95 Grand Cherokee....stalling

Ok, here's the list of items I'm getting for the repair. EVerything I can think of is accounted for based on the Code 11 the PCM is throwing me. 1) Crankshaft Position Sensor 2) Camshaft Position Sensor (i.e. pickup coil) 3) Distributor Cap 4) Rotor Also grabbing: Dielectric grease (to...

    95 Grand Cherokee....stalling

I checked the cap and rotor. Points had some build-up on them, but I cleaned them off and they look like new now. It's possible for corrosion on the CamPS sensor, as the wire has a little play in it. But from what I've read, a CamPS sensor failing would allow the car to run until it was shut...

    95 Grand Cherokee....stalling

I've been doing research on the boards, and everything points to either the CPS, PCM, or wiring. But I still have a few questions. Specs: 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0L I-6 4x2 Auto Problem: Random stalling. As if the key was turned to the OFF position. If I leave it and come back in...

Engine/Transmission swap in 95 Grand Cherokee

Hey all, Quick question. I've got a 95 Grand Cherokee that's producing a wobble when overdrive is turned off (so I'm thinking transmission) and starting to smoke badly (hence thinking engine). It's got over 205k miles on it and has been limping along with a RMS leak. I'm considering going...

    Question on spark plugs...

Hey all, just probably a stupid question here. My 95 Grand Cherokee is in serious need of a tune up. I'm planning on replacing plugs and wires. But I noticed the spark plugs in it are the 4-prong type plugs. Are these special plugs I have to order from Jeep? Or can I just put in some...

Rear Seal Question and Bumper Question....newb. :)

First the specs: 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo (ZJ) 2WD 4.0L Automatic Took it in for an oil change today and they found the rear main seal is leaking. Which, of course, would explain the slow oil leak I've been experiencing (not to mention maybe why my oil guage jumps around). I've...
