06 Grand Cherokee Towing

I have a 2006 Grand Cherokee 4.7 with the towing package ,There is a Tow/Haul button on the console, while Iam towing do I need to have that button engaged at all times or just when going up steep upgrades???

It's preffered that you use it on steep hills and dis-engage it on the highways when it's flat. When there's constant variation on the terrain your driving on it will be better that the tow/haul is engaged. It will change the shift pattern so that the overdrive doesn't constatly engage on and off and will give you more optimum fuel economy due to the shift pattern change.
