i have a 08 jk sahara sometime (3 times so far)when i push the button on the remote to open the doors the jeep go's crazy the ALARM ,lights, windshield wipers front and back and water comes out,4 ways lights, horns, and this happens when i push the button to open the doors.. I disconnected the battery is was still happening...and it would stop after awhile..First time it was a short it seems like last longer each time..PLEASE HELP ME.

Welcome to Jeepz. Either inspector gadget got a hold of your jeep or my guess is the WCM(Wireless control module) has some issues internally. Was the jeep subjected to water at some point in time when the top was off?.

thank for your help,I went to the jeep dealer today and gave them my vin no. and he said there was no recall on that part and if i want that part it will cost 300 dollars.are you sure that make my jeep go crazy.:???:

Does it always do it? I know some cars wil cycle once when alarm was set off. They do this to let you know it was tripped

There's no certainty without propper diagnostics. As far as the symptom is concerned, the WCM is what wakes up all the electronic modules in the network when the fobik is depressed. The fact that it initiates other functions than what it's supposed to, the wcm would be my first target of interest in diagnosing. The second module in the line of diagnostics would be the TIPM(Tottaly integrated power module) which is the fuse box under the hood. This is the CGW(Central gateway) of the entire network of electronic modules. If there's a module that communicates, it would have to talk to the CGW first before the function is carried out. The tipm is a non servicable unit if the internal module is faulty exept the fuses and relays. Last but not the least area of concern that needs to be checked is the wiring harness in the steering column and the components surrounding it. Short to voltage or short to grounds and corrosion in the connections sometimes causes issues like this. Either way i look at this, it looks like a lenghtly diagnostic procedure to propperly isolate this concern.

I have an 08 X thats been doing the same thing for 2 weeks. I took to the dealership today and they called saying it is the TIPM and it will cost $519.00 and it is on back order. Mine would do all of the above while driving down the road -- key off, battery disconnected or fuses pulled would not stop it. The service person advise it should not be driven any further because it will only get worse.

You sure you aren't hitting the panic button by mistake
Hope that didn't come out sounding sarcastic

I can see the possibility of the issue to be evident with the key off but not likely when the battery is disconnected and or the fuse to the component in question is pulled. No power, no actuation.

i went to autozone and they put it on the computer (diagnostic)and got this

08 jeep jk Transmission Control Module

Trouble Code: P0883

TCM POWER INPUT HIGH

Possible Causes:

TRANSMISSION CONTROL RELAY STUCK CLOSED

TRANSMISSION CONTROL RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT SHORT TO VOLTAGE

TRANSMISSION CONTROL RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT SHORT TO VOLTAGE

POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE

INTERMITTENT WIRING AND CONNECTORS

where is it and can i fix it

some said it's TIPM,OR WCM(Wireless control module),AND NOW it,s the the TCM i don't know what to do...........:???::???::???:

just picked mine up - new TIPM 550 $ -- seems to be doing fine -- tech said it was shorted out and said they are positive this was the fix
