The 4.0L stroker is going to have to wait for now while I try to get the most out of my 258. I'll be doing a 4.0L head swap, and have heard that the motorcraft 2100 is a pretty good carb for the 258. However, I've also been told that the carter bbd was a good carb when new...I currently have a holly remanufactured carter bbd on my engine and was wondering if a carb swap would be worth it. Anyone ever get a jeep to pass the CA smog test with a motorcraft carb on the engine? I'm wondering, if it looks stock and passes the sniffer, will the guys at the smog station be likely to catch any underhood modifications? Also, is there any chance of installing a snorkle on my jeep?
