Just a post that proves that you can put 285/70/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on 17X9 with a -12 offset WITHOUT ANY RUBBING!
My JK is a 2012 Sport for reference.

So on the 9 inch wheel you have -12 mm offset that is roughly 1/2 inch and in backspacing you will be at 4 inches of backspacing compared to stock 6.25 inch backspacing.

So turning you should not rub. However if you fully flex (sway bar disconnected) the tire will rub the inner fender.
Flat roads your are fine wheeling and rock crawling you’ll have issues if sway-bar is disconnected.
