I'm sure someone has probably asked this by now but here goes I have a 78 cj7 with a 258 and 4 speed transmission I plan to put 35s under it and I'm wondering if 4.10s would be good especially since its a daily driver weekend wheeler I want the power to push them but would like to be able to run 55-60mph for a long period of time hopefully not at redline I also have no idea what it has in it now but kind of a dog with 32s
much appreciated

i believe most people have 4.5x for that size but let someone who actually has that size tire tell you

Use this chart to find the RPM for your stock tire size and axle gear ratio. Then go to 35" tire and find the RPM closest to your previous figure. Then find the recommended gear ratio. I always strongly recommend one gearset lower than what returns your RPM's to stock. For instance, if the chart says 4.11, your best bang for the buck with be 4.56 gears.
