4.2 yj w/ b/10 swap xj engine+aw4?

I know a person who is selling a rolled xj. Only damage roof and body, motor etc... still running! Can engine and aw4 swapped with ease into a 4.2 yj with 10/5 transmission? I know computer with aw4 needs to switched over. Did anyone every do this swap?

It's been done, you'll need the entire engine harness and transmission harness to include the TCU (transmission control unit, or transmission 'puter).

You'll need to modify your front and rear driveshafts as the AW4 is quite a bit longer than the BA10/5, and you'll have to clock the transfer case up as the front output hangs down lower in the XJ. You'll need the transfer case out of the XJ or swap the input shaft with what's in your jeep now, to match the AW4 output.

Google 'AW4 swap' and '4.0L swap' and you'll find tons of info.
