Hi all new here fhanks for the help. i need to replace the 4 season heater valve in my 1989 jeep cher. 4L v6 was wondering whats involved in doing this and if i should look out for anything thanks for the info.

Just be sure to mark all the hoses prior to removing them - duct tape & a marker should work.

Once you've pulled out the old valve, use a garden hose to squirt water into the upper heater core, then once the water runs clear, squirt it into the bottom heater core until it comes out clear. You may have to do this a few times to get all the gunk out.

Don't push the garden hose tight against the heater core hose! They weren't designed for 40 or so pounds of water pressure and if it's partially plugged, it will come apart under the dash like a dropped accordion! (and antifreeze will sogify your interior!)
