5 extra gallons...91 and newer only? What about 4.2?

I tried this mod about a year ago. I had no success. I noticed that all of you guys who were sucessful had FI equiped 91's or newer Yj's.

88 - 90's have a slightly different style tank, has anyone been sucessful doing this on the carburated Yj's?

If so, any tips? When you get 12 to the gallon every gallon helps...



Oh, and no I dont have a working fuel guage either, I've got a floater.

Half empty or half full is not the question, not at all. To us jeep guys it's just a question of empty or full. Who ever knows.[addsig]

You can't do it on those old steel tanks, only the newer ones that have the same size plastic tank for 15 and 20 gal options.[addsig]
