88 YJ Fuel Gauge

Question -

The fuel gauge in my YJ bounces back and forth, so I am never sure how much I have left - Im new to this forum, is this something that can be fixed by installing a new gauge, or sensor? If so, is that a difficult task?

I had the same problem in my '88 YJ and had luck taking the gauge cluster apart and cleaning the contacts for the fuel gauge. A pencil eraser cleans them pretty well.
