89 yj parts to a 91 yj

I must start by saying wow its been a while since I have been on the site I remember having 3 stars and around 200 post and now I am back to the begining but I like what yall have done to the place real fancy, anyway Here is my question since I am finally back home for a while and have some cashed saved I am thinking about getting an 89 yj for parts good it has the 4 banger as so does my 91 what all is swapable between the 2 I know that the steering is different and the fuel injection changed but what about the t-case vac. lines the 89 is mint except for a rusted frame and well my 91 has seen too many trails and has a whole heep of miles I guess you could say I want to do an entire drive train swap is it the same or am i wasting my time? Please let me know I am going to look at this thing on sunday thanks

Everything should be the same, I don't think they switched to MPFI until '92. If it was '91 that is MPFI you can still use the block in your '91, along with the transmission and transfer case. All the 4wd vacuum remained the same.
 
I think the switch from TBI to MPFI did happen on the '91 models... I say this because I can't get a TB spacer for my 2.5L (1989) because it has 3 bolts and the bolt pattern changed at '91 model year. However, if you're doing a whole engine swap, the motor mounts should be in the same location and will bolt up to the transmission with no probs.

My question would be the computer and wiring... will that be different with the differrent FI setup? Not sure.
