1994 Jeep Cherokee 4x4, 4.0 liter, automatic-- Runs fine and then engine just shuts down temporarily, sometimes for a split second, sometimes for a few seconds, causes it to buck while going down the road, or just stop all together. It also happens while sitting at idle, and then it won't start for a few seconds of turning the engine over. Then it just fires back up and runs fine until the next episode, which is sometimes a few minutes later, sometimes right away. The computer reads code 12, but the computer asn't been physically reset (battery never disconnected), the check engine light, however, is not on while running or driving.
