95 jeep wrangler whining noise from trans area

hey , i got a 95 wrangler 2.5 manual trans, i just started getting some whining noise from trans area. seems when im driving and and its reved up just before i switch gears im getting some kind of whining noise. thinking its the trans or clutch. any ideas... thanks.

are you sure its coming from the trans, or could it be coming from something as stupid as a fan belt

Does it do it when you begin to depress the clutch? Could be the throwout bearing.

I think I have the same noise. Sounds to me like the alternator, or tensioner pulley. It doesn't do it all the time, but its hard to locate if you not driving.
