My oil pressure and temp gauges aren't working properly. When I start the jeep they immediately jump to the middle and stay there, don't move up or down at all. Can be driving all day and no movement (unless the jeep is off of course, and then they drop). The other gauges (gas, tach, etc) work fine, fuses are all fine, have unplugged & replugged them in ... nothing. Ideas??

when things are working right, the oil gauge will stay at 40 and the temp gauge will stay at 210. my tj and xj gauges both fluxuate now, but they din't used to. i jus' re-read your post. my bad. the temp gauge should gradually come up to operating temp, when the motor's cold.

Push the odometer button and hold it while you cycle the ignition key to the on position. Watch the odometer, when you see the odometer reading the software version, let go of the button and wait till the cluster is done doing a self test. Keep watching the odometer until it's done. At the end of the test, it should tell you a pass or fail.

I did the test and all the gauges moved but those two and it didnt say pass or fail what do you think?

Try this test. Disconnect the coolant temp. Sensor wire and temporarily ground it and see if the gauge still goes half way on the dial. Do the same for the oil pressure gauge. This will tell you that IF the gauge goes up to the max. Level , the gauge is good and the problem is likely a short on the wiring , if it still went only halfway, then the issue would be in the cluster.
