Acid from battery WJ

After day of using system, car doesnt start, acid coming from battery. AAA says the system did not cause it, the wiring was very good. Replaced battery, all good. But What causes acid coming from a battery?

Usually the electrolyte boils when overcharging occurs. Do you know the voltage being put out by your alternator? Should be around 14-14.5 volts., and tapers to less than that when the battery is fully charged.
