I was taking out my crappy AX-15 transmission from my 99 TJ yesterday, and everything went great, until I got to the two top bellhousing bolts. For some reason, Chrysler decided to make these two, and only these two, inverted torx bolts!!! At first, I thought I would try to use a 12 point socket, which almost worked, but started to strip it. Then I went out and bought a set of inverted torx sockets, and realized that every size I used would start to strip it (even on the other bolt that I didn't strip at first!). So I realized that the set came with E10, E12, E14, and so on. E14 felt like a winner at first, but then I realized it must be E12. NOPE! I was wrong! It definetly wasn't E10, and my only guess is that it is E11. The only problem is that E11 is very hard to find! Snapon only sells it in their largest Torx set (or by itself, of course). Has anyone ever been in my position? What did you use? I need to cut off the one bolt that I stripped tomorrow, but I kind of wanted to get the non-stripped one off, to lessen the pain-in-my-butt work! Please help! Thanks!

I banged a 6 pt metric socket on the first one that I did. I can't remember what the size was though. I know that it is still attached to my old yj.

The correct size is an E12 befor the edges get worn. Good luck
