Are YJ and TJ Soft Tops and Frames interchangeable?

Hello all!

There is a soft top w/ hardware off of a wrecked TJ ('04?) that is for sale in my county for a very good price.

I have an 89 (YJ) in need of a full soft top configuration.

I have heard that it is possible to install a TJ top on a YJ, but I'm not certain of the level of effort/modifications involved to make it so.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. I'd hate to pass on a good deal, but don't want to modify the body too much and lose use of my hard top and doors.

i dont believe they are directly interchangable.

the hardware rail assemblies and door surrounds on the TJ are quite a bit different than the YJ.

but i do have a tj hardtop on my yj. i had to do cut it in some places to make it fit but it works. i also have tj uppers on ther too.

as far as how much mods u would have to do to get that tj soft top to work im really not sure. never done it before

No thay are not the same and will not fit each other..i have a TJ and a Yj but i wish thay did..
