back up lights not turning on

like it says the backup lights don't turn on but everything seems to be in place. emergency brake light also doesn't comes on, im not sure if they're related.

What transmission do you have? T176 4 speed is on top of the transmission next to the shifter and the T4/T5 (crooked shifter) is on the drivers side of the transmission. If you get a test light there should be power to the switch on one wire and the other wire goes to the lights (the switch connects the two wires and sends the power to the lights). Check for power there, if you don't have any trace the wires back up to the engine compartment and there's a plug right around the battery tray. On my jeep that plug wasn't allowing power to get through so I just cut the wires and spliced them together and it worked fine.
