Broken Transmission

It finally happened. My 401 finally tore up my T-5 transmission. Roberta is sitting at a garage with her guts ripped out. I'm thinking of putting a T-18 or NV4500 in. I found some adapter kits from Novack and Advance Adapters. They said the T-18 with the adapter kit is the same length as the T-5 so no driveline angle changes. I'm in the military and don't have the time to do the work on my own, so I need to bring the parts to a garage and have them do it. I think my transfer case is a Dana 300. Could anyone that's done this kind of mod please give me a few words of wisdom? Thanks a lot for your help

It's an 83 CJ-7. The thread title is funny, not gross. And it is a Dana 300 transfer case.
