Carter BBD Fuel-Air settings?

I went mountain biking yesterday at my local park and drove the Jeep over there without any major issues. On the way home, however, I stalled out 3 times. Tach dropped to 0 and I was stuck. The 3rd time, I could not get it restarted so I popped the hood and got to looking. (Keep in mind the heat index was 100 degrees and I had been biking for 2 hours already, so standing on the side of the road, in the sun, at lunchtime, working on my Jeep was not where I wanted to be.)

I guessed that what was happening was that I would lose spark, and because my carb sucks, I had it set to idle at 1200~1500 RPM to keep it running. Well, after repeated attempts at starting, I’m sure I was flooding it, making it even more difficult to start. After letting it sit for a few minutes, I got it started, but adjusted the fuel/ air screws down to acheive ~700 RPM at idle. I re-timed it by ear and it ran fine the rest of the day and all the way to work so far. Hmmm…weird.

I’m guessing I may have an issue with the ignition module, but I also have a nasty old Viper alarm that came installed on this that is tied into EVERYTHING! I don’t want to take it out for fear of killing the Jeep, but I can’t afford the $ or downtime for a new Painless wiring kit. I Nutter’d it to eliminate the ECU, but it could be ANYTHING! Damn! :?

To eliminate what I can, does anyone have an idea what the factory carb settings are supposed to be?
