clutchtransmission problem

It is hard to get in gear and when it does it engages when I release the pedal only a little about 1/2 to 1 inch. Did not give me much notice, worked fine now it does't. Usually when a clutch goes on me it just slips with no engagement. Is the problem in the clutch or transmission? :-? [addsig]

you would have a hydraulic system.... i would suggest trying to bleed the clutch line. it sounds to me like you are engaged too much, and the clutch is not doing its job by disengaging all the way... if bleeding doesn't work, then i would say to check your throwout/slave assembly[addsig]

oh oh oh i know this one!! Happened to me!! Fill up the clutch fluid resivoir! its probably empty, or close to it! Brake fluid will work fine! Woo, i hope thats it i'll feel good about myself ;-) [addsig]

Good answer, Shane. The clutch master cylinder is probably low, which allowed air into the line. Your clutch slave may be on the way South, if it's leaking fluid. There was some talk on being able to rebuild the clutch master cylinder, but I'm not familiar with it.[addsig]
