Crank position sensor?

My sister got a 06 unlimited jeep 6 cyl and I have a 99 Tj 4 cyl. Her jeep won't start when she is hot I think it is the crank position sensor. Will my sensor fit her jeep? I just want to try it before I buy a new one

Thinking logically I would have to say NO. Regardless of the years, yours is a 4 and hers is a 6.......different RPM's amoung other things. It may "fit" but I don't think it will "work".

This works on diesels, not sure if it is the same for gas engines. If you have a tach, look at it when cranking the engine over. If the CPS is good the tach should register a few hundred RPM while cranking.

Is she sometimes not hot? LOL:shades:

I've never heard of a problem with the CPS due to heat. Later model TJ's had a problem with a heat soak of the injectors, Chrysler issued a TSB to install a heat shield on the intake manifold.
