dana 44 axle conversion

has any one swapped dana 44, from a scout
into an 80 -86 cj7, or from any other vehicle
i want to be able to find the parts in a local bone yard, to make repairs,any where
trying to keep it simple

Hello, i read your converson about the dana 44 i havent done one yet but i am in the process of doing a dana 44 front and a ford 9 inch rear in to a 88 yj feel free to email any ?s or comments to me. My roomate has done a conversion on the rear of a cj5 so i will have a little bit of info and i have a good friend with a scout so i can see what it is you are working with.. my axles are out of a 76 powerwagon pu, and the front axle is 2.5 inches wider than the dana 35 in my yj, the rear is a ford 9inch and it is 1.5 inches wider that the rear in the yj, soo im not going to worry about shortening anything you can email me at sc@toledotel.com my name is sean..peace
