death wobble

buddy of mine put a 2inch lift in his jeep and what do you get? the wobble of death. He has an 06. Took it to the shop and they told him the sway bar links needed to be replaced. Ofcourse he went and did it without thinking about it first and got it done. What do you get once they change the links? still the wobble. Of course ive seen the wobble around 25mph but he gets it right when he reaches 45 mph. Its bruttle. He can't even drive it in the highway. Any suggestions on what could have happened when he got the lift done? because that is all that he has done.

P.S : he got the spacers to lift his jeep 2inches, prob wasnt the best idea

2 inch spacers aren't too bad - that's a good way to get started with a lift.

The best place to start looking at Death Wobble would be at the front trackbar. check to see if it's worn, or if it's pulling the axle to one side - he may need an adjustable (longer) trackbar.

Has he had it aligned yet? He'll probably need an alignment after installing the lift.

There's a whole host of possibilities here:

I have an '87, and after installing my suspension lift, i had the same "death wobble" at around 45 mph. got it aligned and it was better but still there. put new urethane bushings in the sway bar, still there. What it finally ended up being was the tires. rotated the tires on the wheels so they were running in the other directing and wobble gone.
