diamond in the ruff?


As long as you remember what Jeep stands for (Just Empty Every Pocket) it's fine. From my experience, the XJ really didn't change all that much from 88 till the late 90's. One that runs for $700, why not. The 4.0L is a really good engine, but plan on putting in a new rear main seal.
 
It should a carb intake. Thats good or bad depending on what you like.
If it has the Bendix ABS system, get ready to throw that thing away and go with stock brakes, those things were death traps. Being an 88, it might not have ABS.

Have you been able to find out anything else about it?
 

Yea, Cause I got mine for around 1600 and I'm already needing to put a new driveshaft in it, new tires (But those are always going to be new),brakes, rotars, Fan Belt, I had to put in a new CD player it came with a busted Mazda radio 0.o...
