Door compatibility

I acquired a 1991 YJ that has a hard to added. The upper doors are for the soft top with square corners. These are the only ones I can find listed for a YJ. Round top frames say they are for newer models only. The top is round framed, but I do not know if I can use frames for a different model. Will the frames for a newer model fit the door? With the doors overlapping, I know snow will blow in.

Be stop is a leading manufacturer of oem and aftermarket tops. Check your year model to their listings and schematics.
I refer you because without pictures of your jeep and top I can't say. Some have retrofitted tops and doors so there is no telling what you may have.

The question is more about the door shape, and pin spacing. Will a newer frame fit the older bottom door? The roof (no idea what brand) needs round corners (probably made for different year), and all doors listed for a 1991 YJ are square.

YJs had different uppers for hardtop and softop. You need a Hard top upper, or full hard doors.

When it comes to using TJ uppers on a YJ, I believe there is a different in the angle of the windshield between a YJ and a TJ.
I think that CJ doors will work on a YJ, but at the same time, CJs didn't have half doors.

If you the cash this would be cool

You'll have to look for uppers made specifically for a YJ hardtop, like some aftermarket fiberglass models I've seen. Otherwise look at the upper soft windows for a Bestop Supertop, they're rounded.

Thanks guys. I found out the roof is off a CJ. I just can't find a less expensive set of doors. I just can't spend $400- $500 on uppers right now.

Look on your local craigslist for a set of YJ full doors. They aren't cheap, but you may be able to get them for $150 - $200.

Be patient and watch craigslist and ebay and any other source and sooner or later something will come up for you. I've gotten a lot of good deals by waiting and a few not so good deals because I didn't.
