Driver side door not lining up

When I bought my yj, the soft to had Been replaced with a hard top and doors from another jeep. The drivers side door is kinda sloppy and don't line up with the latch pin. I have to kinda lift up and push to get it to latch. The hinges are straight, but the Lower hinge pin seems to have some slop in it. Is there a bushing or somthing that goes in there?

I don't know about the YJ but the TJ has plastic bushings in the hinges. Have a look at the other door and see if there are any bushings. The bushings are pretty delicate and are easily damaged or lost when removing the doors (the threaded part of the hinge can snag them) . I'm pretty sure I saw the bushings for sale cheap online somewhere. Grease up your pins for easier door removal. If there are no bushings you might have to change the hinge (or bore out and rebush if the bolts are all stuck - a common problem) . Best of luck - John

It seemed like many people were experiencing worn bushings on their door hinges and having a hard time finding replacements so I started making sets of custom designed bushings for people. Anyone that needs a set can check them out at my website: Magnitude-Engineering.com

Just joined as a vendor - will have additional information soon
