Find some pics for me of around where you live and the offroading areas around there. We are thinking about moving and are lookin for different places. Including what info you can.

Has to rain, and snow at least a little bit. prefer woods, some sort of mountians or something to look at. LOL we are in kansas and theres not much of anything.

From what you just described,you should move to Southwest Colorado.

Ever thought about moving to Canada? I'm just outside the city of Vancouver. Mountains everywhere full of trails. It rains a lot. We get some snow here and lots in the mountains. If your into skiing/snowboarding there's the local mountains which are 1/2 hr away and Whistler and Blackcomb are only 2 hours away (rated 2'nd best ski resort in the world by Ski Magazine). Next to the ocean and lots of lakes nearby. If I had my choice I'd move somewhere into the interior of BC.....hot summers for wheelin and cold winters for snowmobiling.
Oh ya. Almost forgot.....our beer has alochol in it.

Sounds to me like the Great Smoky Mountains (Western North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee or northern Georgia) is where you want to be. We just had 14" of snow- just on our little mountain. We are close to Tellico, lots of trails everywhere. We get snow (but it melts in between snowfalls) and rain (makes for some great mud) and we are five hours from the ocean- not so important to Mudman, but very important to me. Problem is, jobs are few and far between and land is very expensive- but if we can do it, so can just about anyone else- oh- and the people are great!!!!

im just outside of charlotte, about 20 miles north. there's plenty of small trails around here, but we're only an hour and 15 mins from uwharrie and not much further from tellico. nc coast is 4 hrs from here, and dont forget the outer banks!

And we have several canyons near us that we wheel in, include an OHV park that has great rocks to practice on called 5 mile pass. We call it little Moab.
Grand views of the Wasatch mountains...friendly atmosphere...
Salt Lake City has it all and your only 212 miles from Moab!

After doing alot of talking last night, I think we are looking towards southern colorado. Around Colorado Springs actually. Thank you everybody. even though NOBODY posted pics! LOL We came to the agreement of 15hrs from where we live now. giver or take 15mins. LOL from what we have seen thats where we like. It will be awhile still but now we have a destination.

Here in PA you have all that. Where we are in either PA or nearby MD just about everything is either present or nearby from Mountains to the Atlantic Ocean. Skiing, beaches, offroading, mountain climbing, world class fishing (fresh and salt), I could go on and on. It's all here. Wherever you are at one point, you're less than 3 hours from anything. The casino's of Atlantic City - about 2 hours.

I personally prefer Maryland, but I moved just over the PA line because the MD legislature is outta hand. I work in MD, I play in MD, I hang my hat in PA.

Let me add that there's alot of history and tourism around here too. Again, all within the 3 hour radius is Washington, DC, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Pennsylvania Dutch (Amish) country, Gettysburg, and so on. Revolutionary and Civil War history are everywhere.

I honestly believe the area we live in is the "middle ground" for it all. I've wanted to move here for years and it finally happened a few months ago.

If your line of work allows you to be this choosy, I suggest you choose an area not too far from the oceans no matter where it is. So many people miss that, telling themselves lakes and rivers are a substitute.

Virginia is a nice area too.

I am in construction right now. We do remodels ect... Some car ports ect...therefore that pretty much leaves me open ya know? if you happen to know of any leads let me know. Where are you from in colorado?

We were thinking about the north eastern area however we have NO family there. From colorado we are within a days drive from EVERYBODY that we know. LOL

Sorry, I didn't have pics available. Just an FYI Colorado Springs is more central Colorado. But plenty of wheeling. I'm in Denver myself, and I love it here. I was going to take pics, but it keeps snowing. Here are a few from about one week ago, but I was only hiking and taking pics. This is from a trail called "Lair O the Bear" between Evergreen and Morrison just outsided Denver.

Looks like a Mule Deer Carcass, this is "Lair O the Bear" and evidentally they were coming out of hibernation early starving due to warm weather. Probably coyote or lion.

As you can see below, the terrain is more austere due to winter. But I assure you it's very green in the mountains during the warm months.

Just outside Denver near Morrison. It's the absolute BEST place to see a concert...seriously. The pics I put up don't do it justice.

Hey, WickedYJ, I'd send you some pix of where I am (southwest Florida), but they'd be boring 'cause this place is as flat as a...no, I won't say it. The most fun we have down here is running over tourists. We're moving to north Florida later this year so we can at least get out of swamp country in under 8 hours.

If you want grandeur and lots of public land, definitely go west. Colorado's a great choice as long as it's affordable. New Mexico and Utah are gorgeous country too. On top of good looks, New Mexico offers nice diversity of terrain, flora and fauna. The Northeast is beautiful (and muddy!) with lots of great woods and modest mountains, but not much in the way of public lands.
