Hey everyone. All of you who was with me two weekends ago when we went riding in marshfield remember that I tore a piece of my exhaust off of my cat. Well i tried some muffler mender goop to try to re attach it but it just cracked. So i then bought some 4 min. epoxy putty. It held up great until it heated up then all i could see was blue smoke and the smell of peanuts. So i looked under and it just crisped and burned off. WHAT THE HELL SHOULD I USE? ANY help would be VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. WIthout this piece jummed up in the cat, my motor runs like crap

Thank-you

You are just in serious need of a welder. Take it to a mom and pop type garage that does a bit of exaust work and get em to help you out. Most small shops are in the business of small repairs and it aint going to cost as much as you think. Give it a try. They will tell you about how much is going to cost befor the job and you can always say no. tug

word of the wise... when anyone here ever mentions that you should go to a shop... NEVER GO TO A CORPORATE SHOP OR A DEALERSHIP... all they want is money... my friend just paid $750 for front brakes. i told him to have me do it... i priced it... he would have paid AT MOST $200...
give your business to a good trained locally owned shop

Any minekie can weld it up for ya! cheap or free! but it might be better if you have some one you know do it! If I remember right, where the break was, you will have to drop the skidplate to really seal it up. Go down and ask.

If they give you issues, (we only install new cats, not repair old ones type of BS) call up Lou's Custom Exhaust! There is one in lawrence, North reading, and one south of boston somewhere, but he doesn't care, he will weld up anything and at a good price!

Johnny

PS i have a welder  But am out of gas at the moment
