first tank on motorcraft with half on offy intake

3mpg better then what i have gotten on any other carb, so far. i am now getting mileage in the teens

wow! thats great superj, I have an Edelbrock 2BBL on my offy intake and it performs good til it gets warm out. then i seem to have fuel vaporizing before it gets to the carb. was considering the MC 2100, but was told that all i need to do is insulate the steel line from the pump(on the block) to the carb and that should cure it.

oh man, you get vapor lock? the best thing to do is route the fuel line from over the engine to along the fire wall and then to the carb. insulating helps but the insulation still gets heat soaked and then you are back to the original problem.

i fought vapor lock on a karmann ghia for while. tried everything and finally rerouting fixed it

Been runnin' the Motorcraft for over a year on my '79 CJ 5 and I love it. It's one of the few things that actually works on my Jeep.:shades:

ha ha ha. i believe it. since i put this on, i no longer have cruise control because the carb sits differently then any of the others and the cruise cable is not long enough and i had to lock my trans shift linkage in place because the linkage bar doesn't fit around the intake so i know exactly what you mean

oh ya, the mileage seems to be holding steady. the tank is reading the same as last time, in miles, for where the needle is pointing so it does appear to be a solid 2-3mpg increase from the carb and/or intake swap

dang it, it tricked me. this tank it dropped down again. it got 11.9, which is still good as it was all city driving, no highway at all. normally i am in the 10s when i am all city so while it went down, it was actually higher then normal.

i give up. i edited that list 5 times and each time it gets all jumbled together.

What grade of fuel are you using? Last weekend the gas station I usually use only had premium (92), I usually just use regular (87). I was to lazy to go to another station so I said screw it and filled up with premium. I have to say I am getting way better millage with the premium. But at $4.97 a gallon ouch!
