Fuel sending unit question

If i have a sending unit for a 20 gallon tank in my 15 gallon tank what would my fuel gauge on my dash do?

It will never read full. It will work fine though, as long as you're referring to '91-'95.

If you're going through the trouble of changing sending units on a '91-'95 plastic tank, go ahead and trim the fill tube that extends into the tank to increase your capacity to 20gal. You can reach in through the sending unit hole to trim or pull the inner fill tube out from the outside and trim it.

ok thats what i thought my gauge reads half full when i fill the tank but mine is a 1979 cj7
