Hard downshift

Hello everyone. I am new here, so let's see how this goes. I have a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, 4WD, V8. The Jeep starts fine. It runs good, a little slow for a V8, on hills. But my problem is; If I am driving over 55mph it runs great, but when I let of the gas to slow down and it hits 55mph it hard downshifts. That is the only time it does it and only once it hits 55mpg on the slow down. Any ideas for me?

55 mpg is awesome! Why you complaining?


Is this Ll stock? Engine, trans, rear gears? Tire size?

Have you change trans fluid and filter on schedule? Fluid correct level and correct color snd smell?

And CEL on the engine?
