Hey,
anyone out there know how to re-attach the headliner in an 88 xj...mine seems to be falling a little....understatement :).......Also, how about pulling original seat covers off, do they come off fairly easy?

Thanks[addsig]

Hi, I replaced my headliner last summer. It wasn't too hard. You have to remove or lossen all upper interior trim, handles, dome lights (remove fuse first), etc. The headliner is glued to a big fiberglass board that you have to slide out the tailgate. When I was taking mine out it chipped and cracked as much as possible , so you must be gentle with it. When mine chipped I used duct tape to fix the corners and I used 3M adhesive spray when I put the new fabric on, worked like a charm.

Good Luck

The headliner in the Jeep is a fiber board with foam-backed cloth glued on it. The thing is held onto the roof by the trim inside, the dome light sockets and two pieces of industrial duty velcro.
Go to your neighborhood fabrics store and find a foam backed cloth that is a match for the color of your headliner.
Take your headliner out of the Jeep, use a plastic putty knife and scrape off as much of the residual disintigrated foam as you can. Then use a stiff brush and get the hard spots.
Use some 3M formica adhesive spray or get special headliner spray here:

Spray according to the instructions on the can and reinstall the headliner in reverse order.

Or, you can go here:

and get the complete kit with instructions!!!
