i have a 90 yj and bypassed the nutter system. i read alot on it and decided to do it. alot of sites say to do the same things.
but now that i did it...
when my day time running lights are on there is a buzzing noise in the distributer when the jeep is off but with the key on.
i timed the motor to 8 deg as said, but now it is over heating.
and when giving gas to pass 2000rpm the motor doesnt take the sparks going to the wires. it simply just bucks and goes back to normal whenidle.
whats up boyz, what the heck is going on.
i dont get it, i am a mech and have lots experience, but just thoght i would ask the pros first.[addsig]

Sounds like your stepper motor may not be seated completely (or disconnected) or maybe you forgot to relocate the vacumn advance for your distributor. www.off-road.com has a pretty good write up on the nutter bypass, to double check, the job. While your there check out www.off-road.com/jeep/258igniton.htm, I´ve done that conversion, along with a good carb. cleaning, worked fine (though the gas mileage went down):-( (Horsepower went way up :)[addsig]
