Hi all rear troubles!

Hi I'm Rob
I have a 1998 wrangler TJ with a shot rear end. By shot, I mean the
rear drive shaft spins but the wheels don't. In my usual uninformed way
I diagnosed the problem to be the spider gears. I spoke to a couple of
mechanics who said to just drop the whole assembly and replace with a
new/used one, this would be easier to do than doing the surgery to the
gears. I am having trouble identifying the rear axle assembly. I think
its a Dana 35c but want to be sure. Also I hear the ratio is stamped on
there somewhere but D@#*ed if I can find it. Can anybody help a brother?
I will be glad to photo document the whole job once i get started!
Thanks in advance!!

There should be Tag's on the Differential cover bolts. one is the Gear ratio and the other one should be the the axle Part number.

If you're and armchair mechanic like me, you can just request a build sheet from Jeep. Assuming you still have the original axles, this will tell you what type they are.
